El Capitán State Beach
El Capitán State Beach offers visitors a sandy beach, rocky tidepools, and stands of sycamore and oaks along El Capitán Creek. It’s a perfect setting for swimming, fishing, surfing, picnicking and camping. A stairway provides access from the bluffs to the beach area.
Beach wheelchairs are available for use by the public with no cost. With this specially designed chair, wheelchair users may access the beach at several locations. Contact a ranger or lifeguard for additional information.
Camp Store Concession Opportunity
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – California State Parks announced today that it is accepting proposals for a 10-year concession contract to operate three camp stores at El Capitán and Refugio state beaches, and Gaviota State Park. Deadline to submit proposals is Tuesday, July 16, 2019 by 2 p.m. A pre-proposal meeting to operate the concession is set for May 29 at 6 p.m. at El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park in Santa Barbara. A tour of the parks will be available prior to the meeting from 3:30 to 5:10 p.m. (See tour details Information Here)
