Junior Lifeguards

Sonoma Coast State Park
Enrollment in the Sonoma Coast Junior Lifeguard program is first come, first served. Students are considered enrolled when the Program fees are paid AND the swim/tread water/underwater swim tests are passed.

Program Dates, Ages, Location and Fees
The Sonoma Coast Junior Lifeguard Program Dates are:
June 10 to July 5 (4th observed) (M – F) from 9am – 2pm at South Goat Rock Beach in the Sonoma Coast State Park.
Program Ages 9 to 15 years
The cost of the three-week program is $500, paid after passing the tryout, online at ReserveCalifornia.com Registration opens (TBD). Tuition includes Uniform red rash guard and T-shirt. Red JG Hoodie $40 extra
Tryouts Dates
The Sonoma Coast Junior Lifeguard Program is not a “learn to swim” program, therefore prospective participants (ages 9 -15) must have a minimum level of competency to insure safety within the group. Returning JG’s need not requalify.
Tryouts Sunday May 5, 4pm to 5:30
Ives Pool, 7400 Willow St, Sebastopol
The tryout consists of:
100 yard swim in under 3 minutes, swim 5 yards underwater and tread water for 3 minutes.
Refunds
There is a $50.00 fee for cancellations made 7 days prior to the first day of instruction. Participants who drop from the program within 6 days prior to the first day through the start of the first day of week (2) will receive a 50% refund of tuition. No refunds will be made after commencement of the second day of of the program. There is no refund for students suspended or for students removed from activities for disciplinary reasons. NO EXCEPTIONS.
