Camping

Two generally accessible campsites (#36 and #58) are available in the Sycamore Canyon Campground. Nearby combination restroom/shower buildings in the campground are generally accessible.

Picnic Area

Fourteen picnic sites spread throughout the Sycamore Cove day use area are accessible, including parking. Additional accessible amenities in the picnic area include water spigots, BBQ grills, outdoor rinsing showers, and portable toilets.

Trails

Sycamore Canyon Trail: This Improved Access Trail uses a portion of the campground road and the Sycamore Canyon Fire Road, to provide an accessible ‘out-and-back’ hiking opportunity that is approximately 0.75-mile each way. Accessible parking and generally accessible restrooms are available at the combo building across from campsite #22. From the parking stall, follow the asphalt campground road north to connect with the dirt fire road. Metal plates have been installed over a drainage grate in the campground road to provide wheelchair access across the drainage. At the start of the fire road, bollards in the road have been improved to allow for wheelchair access. The average width of the fire road is 12 feet, typical cross slope and running slope is 2%. The fire road surface contains minor imperfections, such as potholes, that can be navigated around. The Improved Access Trail portion of the road ends at a sloped descent into a seasonal drainage that is 0.75-mile from the start of the fire road.
