Sutter's Fort or Bust
This is 45 minute hands-on interactive program that tells the story of Sutter's Fort as the first mall of California. The program explains why so many people from diverse backgrounds made Sutter's Fort their destination. It begins with the arrival of John Sutter who became a land owner and farmer and talks about his journey to get here. The program will also discuss the various trades that made Sutter's Fort a destination. You will also find how Sutter impacted California by inviting people from all over the world to start a new life in California. Students will participate at various levels at each station and is suitable for grades 4 through 6. The interactive program runs Wednesday and Friday (February through June and September through November) every 30 minutes from 10am to 3pm. The cost is $60.00 per class up to 40 people.
