Student Art Collaboration
In the Fall of 2024, CSU Sacramento students collaborated with the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort to create artwork that explores themes of land and belonging. Native artists and Traditional Ecological Knowledge specialists contributed to the course, which culminated in exhibits at the State Indian Museum and Verge Center for the Arts, a local gallery.
The collaboration offered students an invaluable opportunity to engage with timely, real-world issues and forge a new relationship to the land on which they live. We invite you to view this digital exhibit, which offers a window into the project and presents the students' final artwork. [visit here]
This project was made possible with the help from the Arts in California Parks initiative, which prides itself on creating art installations and programs in State and local parks that foster lasting community bonds and promote health and happiness for all.
