California State Parks Invites You to Explore the Magic of Hearst Castle® After Dark with New Evening Tour Series

SAN SIMEON - California State Parks is excited to announce a new limited series of evening tours at the iconic Hearst Castle® this fall. The “Art Under the Moonlight” tours will offer guests a unique opportunity to explore William Randolph Hearst's world-renowned art collection like never before – under the enchanting glow of the moon. These guided tours will be available on select Fridays and Saturdays from Oct. 4 through Nov. 16.

Hearst Castle Activates Severe Drought Contingency Plan

SAN SIMEON, Calif., — California State Parks will close the restrooms at the Hearst San Simeone Historical Monument (Hearst Castle) Visitor Center beginning Wednesday, July 13, 2022, as part of its Drought Contingency Plan. Portable chemical toilets will be available to the public at the Visitor Center.

California State Parks to Reopen Hearst Castle on May 11

SACRAMENTO, Calif., — California State Parks today announced plans to reopen Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument (Hearst Castle). The world-renowned house museum will reopen to the public on May 11, after being closed for two years following the COVID-19 pandemic and severe rainstorms that damaged the access road to the castle in early 2021.
