D.L. Bliss State Park Set to Reopen in May 2026 After Major Infrastructure Upgrades

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — California State Parks announced today that D.L. Bliss State Park will fully reopen to the public for camping and day use on May 21, 2026, following a multi-year waterline replacement project. The reopening marks an exciting milestone for park visitors and local residents eager to return to one of the Lake Tahoe basin’s most beloved parks. Camping reservations for bookings six months out will be available starting Nov. 21, 2025, on ReserveCalifornia.com.

D.L. Bliss State Park to Remain Closed through Summer 2024 for Waterline Replacement Project

TAHOMA, Calif.— California State Parks today announced that D.L. Bliss State Park in the Lake Tahoe Basin will remain temporarily closed through summer 2024. Contract work to replace aging waterlines at the park is ongoing and expected to be completed next year. Work will resume after the snow melts in the spring and is anticipated to continue through summer 2024.

D.L. Bliss State Park Closed for Summer 2023 For Replacement of Waterline

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.— California State Parks is reminding the public that D.L. Bliss State Park is closed for the summer of 2023 to replace the main waterline in the park. Effective immediately, the campground and day-use areas of the park will be closed to visitors and no services will be provided. The closure is anticipated to last throughout the summer, depending on weather or other unknown conditions that may arise. The D.L. Bliss State Park website will be updated with the latest information.
