BENICIA, Calif. — With an assist from Valero Energy, the historic Benicia Capitol State Historic Park will be lit with holiday lights. On Nov. 5, 2015, with the help of Valero firefighters and their ladder truck, the Benicia Capitol façade and columns will be ringed with dazzling lights.
Previously the City of Benicia’s Fire Department had helped out, but the fire department no longer has a ladder truck that reaches high enough. The park was contemplating a holiday season without lights until Valero offered to help out a neighbor.
Thanks to Valero, the Benicia Capitol will now retain its tradition of being well-lit throughout the holidays. Visit the Benicia Capitol and Fischer-Hanlon House during Benicia’s Holiday Open House on Friday, December 4 from 6 to 9 p.m.—and see the beautiful lights.
