Big Basin Bird Walk
10:00-11:30
On this relaxed 1-mile walk we will listen and look for birds, stopping frequently to observe and identify resident and migratory birds in the forest they call home. Docent Karen DeMello will share the story about the enigmatic Marbled Murrelet which is very special to Big Basin Redwoods State Park. This walk offers a chance to enjoy towering redwoods, learn about local wildlife, and connect with nature. Beginner birders are especially welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Please Note: This program is free, however, a $10 vehicle day-use fee will be charged upon arrival, or you can reserve a parking spot by clicking here. Please plan to meet at the temporary visitor center. There is no drinking water, food, or cell service available at Big Basin, so be sure to bring snacks and plenty of water for your visit!
