Columbia State Historic Park preserves a Gold Rush-era business district with shops, restaurants and two hotels. Proprietors in period clothing conduct business in the style of yesterday. The park is 3 miles north of Sonora, off Highway 49. Phone (209) 532-0150.

Picnic Area

Accessible picnicking and an accessible restroom are available near the lower parking lot. Accessible picnic sites are also located on Jackson Street near the corner of Jackson and Colombia Street.

Exhibits/Programs

Walkways throughout this historic town have been raised and leveled to create accessible boardwalks and building entrances, however some uneven surfaces remain where routes cross roadways. Doorways have been modified for accessibility including push button openers where necessary to open heavy double doors. Assistance is available inside shops to help reach sales items.
