Overview

State Vehicular Recreation Areas (SVRAs) are operated by California State Park's Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVRD) and you may see their web pages, www.ohv.parks.ca.gov, for more information on these parks.

Prairie City SVRA is set against rolling hills at the base of the Sierra Nevada and is open year-round. It includes 836 acres of motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle and four-wheel drive open areas along with shaded picnic areas. The Hangtown MX track is professionally designed and maintained as weather permits. There is also a Quarter Midget Track, Go-Kart Track, and a four-wheel drive obstacle course. Picnic Area

4x4 Obstacle Course Area: Accessible picnic tables are available.

Kids Mini Track Area: Accessible picnicking and parking are available.

Hangtown MX Track Area: Accessible picnic sites, restroom and no-flush restrooms, and parking are available.

Overlook/Staging Area: Accessible picnic sites, parking, bleacher seating and restroom are present.

Quarter Midget Car Area: Accessible parking, picnicking, restrooms, no-flush restrooms, and bleacher seating are available.
