California State Parks Launches New Outdoor Equity Grants Program

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California State Parks today announced the creation of a new outdoor equity grant program that advances the Governor and First Partner’s commitment to expanding outdoor access for all. The $19 million in funding will go toward transportation, program operations, staffing and other costs that traditionally present barriers for historically underserved urban and rural communities throughout California.

California State Parks Seeking Public Comment on New Program Aimed at Helping Underserved Communities Connect to the Outdoors

California State Parks is seeking public feedback on draft guidelines for $19 million in outdoor program grants to create new or expand access to outdoor programs in underserved communities. Input from the public will help State Parks establish a new grant program - the Outdoor Equity Grant Program - in support of providing equitable access to all Californians.

California State Parks Announces Application Workshops for Rural and Regional Park Grants

California State Parks is offering virtual application workshops to help local agencies and non-profit organizations prepare for a combined $46.2 million in funding for two new competitive statewide grant programs. The online application workshops will take place starting Jan. 12, 2021 through Feb. 4, 2021 for the Regional Park and the Rural Recreation and Tourism programs. The application deadline to propose projects for both programs is Nov. 5, 2021 by 5 p.m. PST.

California State Parks Announces $37 Million in Proposition 68 Recreational Infrastructure Revenue Enhancement Allocations

The California Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) today announced $37 million in allocations to 30 agencies under the Proposition 68 Recreational Infrastructure Revenue Enhancement (RIRE) Grant Program. This non-competitive grant program provides funding to local government agencies that passed local ballot revenue enhancement measures between Nov. 1, 2012, through Nov. 30, 2018, aimed at improving and enhancing local or regional park infrastructure. RIRE funds are proportionally allocated based on the population of the voting area.

The Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is now accepting grant applications from public government agencies for the purchase and deployment of floating restrooms on California waterways. Interested applicants should review the grant guidelines and submit a grant application to DBW by 5 p.m. (PST) Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

California State Parks Extends Application Deadline for Competitive Statewide Park Program

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California State Parks is extending the application deadline for Round 4 of the?Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant Program?(SPP) from Dec. 14, 2020, to March 12, 2021. For this round, there is $395.3 million in Proposition 68 competitive grant funding available to cities, counties, nonprofit organizations, local districts and joint powers authorities to create new parks and recreational opportunities. Applications must be submitted through an?online application system at parks.ca.gov/spp by the new deadline.

State Parks Announces Recommendations for $5.6 Million in Local Recreational Trail Projects

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California State Parks today announced recommendations for $5.6 million in funding for eight local non-motorized trail projects under the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Recreational Trails Program (RTP). Funding from this program helps improve the quality of life for the nation’s communities by providing access for all to the outdoors.

Division of Boating and Waterways Now Accepting Grant Applications to Keep California’s Waterways Clean - Grant Applications Due Monday, Oct. 12, 2020

The Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is now accepting grant applications for the Clean Vessel Act Education and Outreach Grant Program. A maximum of $330,000 of federal funding per targeted region is available to organizations for educating Southern California coastal and San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary boaters about proper vessel sewage disposal, the use of pumpout facilities and how to monitor pumpout stations in the identified regions. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, before 10 a.m.
