JG Volunteer Day #1 of 2026!
Date: 1/19/26 - MLK Day of Service
Who: JGs, prospective JGs, and JG Families! Parents may drop off participants with JG Instructor in Tiburon and are also welcome to join.
What: Participants will work with State Park Staff, including JG Instructors, to build wooden board racks, remove debris and weeds, carry picnic tables to the JG Beach Area, and cut back vegetation from the trail. We will also have fun as we work!
When: Options include taking the Ayala from Tiburon at 8:30 am and returning at 5:10pm in Tiburon, or taking the Golden Gate Ferry from the Ferry Building (must purchase fare- no State Park staff will be present to ride with participants, but will be waiting at the island in Ayala Cove as long as you specify that in your RSVP) at 9:25 am and returning at either 3:10pm or 5:30pm.
- Each participant must have an adult present to sign a Volunteer Waiver, or must sign the waiver in advance via email or Docusign.
Where: Angel Island State Park! We will work around the Quarry Beach area.
Why: To get ready for Summer 2026, to see JG friends, spend time with JG Instructors, enjoy an Angel Island adventure, to honor Dr. King's legacy by serving, to contribute to Aquatic Safety, Teamwork and Leadership.
What to bring: Layers of clothing, shoes and socks, food and water for lunch and snacks, work gloves if you have them (we will have some to lend), hat, sunscreen.
- We won't be getting in the water, unfortunately.
