Waterfowl Hunting Closure Map

 

Every other Sunday during the 2024-2025 Southern California Zone hunting season (October 27, November 3, November 17, December 1, December 15, December 29, January 12, and January 19), the east side of the lake will be closed to all recreational boaters and pedestrians, except permitted waterfowl hunters with reservations, from 4:00 AM until 1:00 PM throughout the season.

Recreational boaters launching on Sunday mornings will be required to remain West of the 5 MPH buoys that span across Alessandro Island from North to South on both sides. Only registered waterfowl hunters in their designated hunting assignments will be allowed to enter the east side of the lake. The east side of the bike path, starting at Bernasconi Beach to the entrance of Lot 14 will also be closed from 4:00 AM until 1:00 PM throughout the season. No pedestrians, bikes, or horses are allowed to enter the east side of the lake.

Gunfire will be in progress and visitors who enter the area may be exposed to danger / injury. Barricades will be set up on the bike path with signage. People who enter despite these warnings are subject to citation / arrest.

There is 8 boat in buoy locations. 5 of the buoys have been awarded via lottery. The remaining buoy locations will be awarded via day of hunt sweatline drawing.
