K-9 Ivan and Handler Martin Gilbertson

K-9 Ivan was born on Sept. 26, 2019, in the Czech Republic and received his early training in the Netherlands before coming to California. He is paired with State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) Martin Gilbertson. He was certified in patrol and narcotics detection in December 2020 and works at South Yuba River State Park. He enjoys playing tug-of-war with his toys and swimming in the river on his days off.
