Construction of 22 Additional Bike Turnouts
at Mount Diablo State Park - October 2024 update
The final touches have been completed on this year's project to add 22 new bike turnouts to the roads of Mount Diablo State Park.
Now, as cyclists pedal up the park's steep roads, they can take advantage of a total of 67 bicycle turnouts which allow them to pull out of the main traffic lane into their own lane so that vehicles can pass safely.
Funding for this set of bike turnouts was provided by California State Parks and by public donations through the California State Parks Foundation and coordinated by Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Club and the Mount Diablo Cyclists.
