Update 5/19/23

North Gate Road will be closed May 19 - mid September.

The closure is to rebuild a section of road damaged by this year’s storms and applies to pedestrians, vehicles, and bicyclists.
Visitors will be able to access the Summit and developed areas of the park from the South Gate Entrance (2675 Mt. Diablo Scenic Boulevard, Blackhawk, 94506) on the Danville side of the mountain.
Watch here for updates on the progress of the project.

SHARE THE ROAD -- With North Gate Road closed (through mid-September) all traffic will be coming in on South Gate Road so it is especially important for everyone to do their part to Share the Road.
Taking it slow on the narrow and winding roads is one of the keys to keeping everyone safe while travelling in the park. Whether driving or cycling, observe posted speed limits, remain in your lane, use bike passing lanes, and stay alert! You never know what is around the next curve, and it is easy for speeds to creep up on the downhill journey.
