Doheny Campground Climate Resilience & Modernization Project

Effective July 1, the reservation booking window for the Doheny State Beach campground will be temporarily reduced from 6 months to 3 months in anticipation of a future campground closure. For example, reservations for October 1, 2026 will become available starting July 1, 2026.

A temporary closure of the campground is anticipated sometime between 2027 and 2029 to ensure the safety of the public as essential construction and upgrades are carried out. Due to the nature of this project and to accommodate potential schedule adjustments, we are temporarily adjusting the reservations booking window to allow visitors to continue to enjoy camping at this iconic location. NOTE: The campground will remain open through at least the end of 2026. For additional information on the construction project, please visit Doheny State Beach Campground Climate Resilience & Modernization Project.
