SACRAMENTO – Parks California and California State Parks today announced grants to 31 organizations throughout California, totaling more than $1 million to improve access to state parks and create memorable nature experiences. Through Parks California’s Route to Parks grant program, these funds will help more than 7,700 people create lasting memories at state parks in 2025.
SACRAMENTO —The California Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) is excited to announce nearly $330,000 is available through a new grant program for the preservation and interpretation of California’s irreplaceable maritime heritage. OHP is now accepting applications for the grants, which are funded by the National Park Service (NPS) through the National Maritime Heritage Grants Program for the stewardship and preservation of historical and archaeological resources associated with the maritime history of California.

Fourteen local organizations will receive a total of over $1.1 million to help train people for careers in parks and public lands. SACRAMENTO, Calif.— California State Parks today announced a grant opportunity to fund projects near military bases to acquire, or acquire and develop, lands for public outdoor recreation, and increase resilience to climate change through recreation. A total of $40 million is available, nationwide, from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and the Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) grant program. Under “Round Four” of the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant Program, the state of California is delivering new park access to an additional eight communities across the state.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California State Parks today announced recommendations to the National Park Service (NPS) for $35.6 million in Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grants for 16 local park projects. Funding would provide public agencies with the ability to acquire land and/or develop recreational amenities such as playgrounds, sports fields and courts, exercise stations, dog and skate parks.
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—California State Parks is now accepting applications from public entities to provide outdoor recreational experiences to their communities through the federal Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program. In the seventh round of this competitive grant program, a total of approximately $224.1 million is available nationwide for communities with limited or no access to publicly available, close-by, outdoor recreation opportunities. Up to $15 million can be requested per project.
SACRAMENTO, Calif.–California State Parks’ Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is accepting grant applications from government agencies for the purchase and deployment of floating restrooms on California’s waterways with limited landside access. A million in federal and state funding is available for approximately four Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant floating restrooms. Interested applicants to the Floating Restroom Grant Program are encouraged to review the grant guidelines and submit a grant application to DBW by 5 p.m. PST, Monday, Nov. 13, 2023.
SACRAMENTO, Calif.— California State Parks’ Division of Boating and Waterways(DBW) has awarded $18.8 million to public entities to provide clean and safe waterways for California’s recreational community. Funding will be used to prevent the further spread of quagga and zebra mussels in freshwater bodies, discourage the illegal disposal of unwanted vessels and purchase search-and-rescue equipment for law enforcement entities.
