Prescribed Burning at Estero Bluffs and Morro Bay State Parks

What: Prescribed burning of brush piles.
When: Wednesday, November 12th through Friday, November 21 st. Actual burn days will be Tuesday-Thursday and will be determined by weather and permit conditions. Ignitions may start as early as 7 a.m. with fire activity curtailed by approximately5 p.m.
Where: Estero Bluffs State Park - the burn unit is approximately and approximately 10 brush piles and surrounding slash at San Geronimo.
Morro Bay State Park - the burn unit consists of approximately 20 brush piles at the intersection of Lower State Park Road and Park View Drive.
Why: In order to reduce fuel loads and fire hazards as well as enhance the health of the native plant communities, and aid in the control of non-native, weedy species.
