Evening Opening of the Chris Jorgensen Art Gallery | Thursday, April 2nd, 2026 | 5 PM - 7 PM
The Chris Jorgensen Gallery will be open starting the evening of Thursday April 2nd as part of Sonoma Art Walk from 5 PM - 7 PM. This is a unique opportunity to visit the gallery (each first Thursday of the month through October) during evening hours when the mission is closed!
The Virgil Jorgensen Memorial Collection features the works of Virgil's father, Chris Jorgensen, which were donated to State Parks in 1951 by Florence Jorgensen. These exquisite watercolors were painted between 1903 and 1904 and highlight what remained of the California missions at that time. The "California Missions" book featuring reproductions of the paintings will be available for purchase at a 10% discount, along with a new Mission Postcard (SPParks funds benefit Sonoma State Historic Park). Materials will be provided to help visitors dive into the details of these very special paintings. Please join us for an engaging evening of history and art!
