Job Position: Seasonal Park Aides

Overview: Park Aides perform routine public contact work, staff park entrance stations, provide information to the public, keep facilities clean and orderly, and drive light vehicles. Maintenance Park Aides perform routine maintenance and house keeping duties, provide information to the public, keep facilities clean and orderly, use various tools and drive light vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write and speak English at a level required for successful job performance; ability to follow directions, learn work procedures and park rules; meet the public successfully.

Job Position: Park Interpretive Specialist
Overview:
The Park Interpretive Specialist, under direction, will:
- plan, organize, promote and conduct educational walks, hikes, or other interpretive programs concerning the natural and cultural history of the park;
- promote conservation practices by explaining the relation of natural resources to the economy and physical and mental well-being of man;
- explain rules and regulations to visitors for the purpose of protecting and preserving natural, historic and cultural features, sites or structures in the park.
- Must enjoy working with people, especially children and families, be enthusiastic, organized, reliable, and have a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors.
This position is open until filled, seasonal (9 months) or yearly appointment, 1500 hours/year, $12.40/hour.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Graduation from college, or near graduation, with major work in natural or environmental sciences, cultural studies, history, or education.
- Experience in public speaking, outdoor education and/or recreation.
- Strong organizational and group management skills.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all kinds of weather and site conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Friendly, welcoming and outgoing personality.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese a plus.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based software such as Google Drive
- Ability to work weekends
