Historic Walking Tours
Step back in time as we take you on a journey through the historic streets of Old Town San Diego State Historic Park! Our expert guide will share how converging cultures that transformed San Diego from a Kumeyaay village to a Mexican pueblo to an American Settlement. Hear stories about early trade, military life, and settlers and Kumeyaay people who shaped this vibrant community. We’ll visit original adobe homes, historic gardens, and hidden gems where you can immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and culture of 19th-century San Diego.
Days Offered: Saturdays and throughout the week depending on staff. Reach out to Oldtown.sandiego@parks.ca.gov for specific dates available

Little Rangers & Junior Rangers
Little Rangers Story Time

Location: Mason Street School House
Ages: 6 & Younger
Are you excited to become a Junior Ranger but not quite old enough yet? Come start your journey as a Little Ranger! Meet a State Park Interpreter for age-appropriate activities including interactive storytime, song, and activity to earn a Little Ranger souvenir!

Junior Rangers
Self-guided Junior Ranger booklets are avaiable in the Robinson Rose Visitor Center.

Ages: 7-12
Join us on Saturdays for our FREE Junior Ranger programs, where State Park Interpreters introduce youth, ages 7-12, to the diverse natural and cultural resources of Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Each program earns participants a stamp in their Junior Ranger logbook. Over 100 parks across the state offer Junior Ranger programs - learn, have fun, and collect stamps all over California, while earning a souvenir for your efforts!
This month: "Explore the History of the Kumeyaay"
Join us for an hour of fun, learning, and adventure as we explore the rich cultural and ecological heritage of the Kumeyaay people, the First People of San Diego. Junior Rangers will get an introduction to native plants and Kumeyaay cosmology on a guided nature walk, followed by a hands-on activity.
