SACRAMENTO – California State Parks’ Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division announced today more than $23 million in final awards for the 2025 Grants and Cooperative Agreements program (Grants program). Eighty-one local and federal agencies, districts and nonprofit organizations were awarded funding for their off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation activities.
EARLIMART – California State Park’s Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park (SHP) will celebrate its Annual Rededication on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s event is part of California State Parks’ yearlong celebration of the Golden State’s 175th anniversary of statehood and will be co-sponsored by the California State Parks Foundation. SACRAMENTO — With the school year just getting into full swing, California State Parks, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and the California Natural Resources Agency are inviting all fourth graders in California public schoolsto download the free California State Park Adventure Pass.The pass opens the door to California’s stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage, granting students and their families a year of free entry to 54 state parks full of sandy beaches and desert canyons, majestic redwood forests and eye-opening historic sites.
BIG SUR—California State Parks and Save the Redwoods League announced the reopening of Pfeiffer Falls Trail in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, which was closed after the trail’s pedestrian bridge was damaged in a storm by a fallen redwood tree in January 2023. With the reconstruction of the bridge completed, the trail is now accessible to the public again.
SACRAMENTO — California State Parks’ Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is now accepting grant applications from organizations that teach on-the-water boating safety education to the public. Approximately $1.4 million in Aquatic Center Education Program grants is available to local public agencies, nonprofit organizations and colleges/universities operating within California. The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 24 at noon.
SACRAMENTO – Get ready to participate and make a difference during this year’s annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 20. From 9 a.m. to noon, more than 50 California state parks and the Division of Boating and Waterways will participate in the state’s largest annual volunteer event in coordination with the California Coastal Commission.
