Lake Level and Hazards Advisory 12/17/2025

Based on the precipitation and runoff forecasts, Folsom Lake is expected to rise dramatically and rapidly in the next 10 days. In preparation for the impacts of these storm systems, State Parks is removing the courtesy docks at Granite Bay and will be relocating hazard buoys beginning December 18th.  Dramatic lake level increases have historically caused damage to docks and have resulted in buoys floating, detaching, or becoming submerged. The buoys and docks will be moved to higher ground and will be replaced when the Folsom Lake level stabilizes. Floating logs and debris can also be expected.

During this time, boaters are advised to use extra caution, expect hazards to be unmarked and plan to launch vessels without a dock.
