Want to find out everything there is to know about Old Town San Diego State Historic Park? Visitors to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park can experience history where it happened through engaging Historic Walking Tours that bring the past to life. Led by knowledgeable guides, these tours offer a fascinating journey through the streets of Old Town, revealing the people, cultures, and events that shaped San Diego’s early beginnings.

As guests stroll through the Park, they’ll learn how converging cultures transformed the area from a Kumeyaay village to a Mexican pueblo and eventually into an American settlement. Along the way, guides share compelling stories of early trade, military life, and the relationships between settlers and the Kumeyaay people who helped form this vibrant community. The tour includes visits to original adobe homes, historic gardens, and lesser-known hidden gems, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and culture of 19th-century San Diego.

Days Offered: Saturdays and select weekdays, depending on staff availability

Time: 10:00 A.M., 11:30 A.M., 2 P.M., & 3:30 P.M.

Duration: 45 Minutes

Pricing: $10 per adult, $5 per child (4 to 12 years old)

Signup location: Day of in the Robinson Rose Visitor Information Center 

Ages: Recommended for ages 12 and up

Space is limited to 18 participants per tour, so early sign-up is encouraged. Groups of 10 or more are asked to schedule a private walking tour in advance. For specific dates and availability, visitors may contact Oldtown.sandiego@parks.ca.gov. Advanced registration is recommended at www.parks.ca.gov/oldtownsandiego or in-person the day of your visit at the Robinson~Rose Visitor Center.
