Join California State Parks and Santa Monica Mountains Nature Journal Club for a morning of nature journaling with this FREE event!

Start the new year by reconnecting with nature, sparking a new hobby, and joining a community of people who share your love of nature (and nature journaling).

Nature journaling is the practice of slowing down to closely observe the natural world—asking questions, making connections, and deepening your curiosity, memory, and joy. No art, writing, or science experience is required.

This program will start at 10am. There will be an optional beginners’ class while seasoned nature journalers will be able to wander off and journal their curiosity at will. There are multiple trails to explore! We will reconvene at 12:00pm to share our experience and end with an optional picnic potluck lunch. This is a family-friendly event. Children are welcome!

Bring: Water, comfortable shoes, layers, something to write on, a writing utensil, a folding chair if you have one.

Optional: Watercolors, colored pencils, something to share for potluck.

Dogs are not allowed on trails. Rain will cancel event.

Parking: Parking passes will be provided for participants.
