The Miniature World of Galls

Join an interpreter as we discovery the miniature world of galls! These bizarre and beautiful growths can be found on trees and shrubs throughout the park! The gall serves as protection and food for the tiny insects living inside them! On our 1-mile walk we will look for and identify different galls, as well as learn about their importance to the ecosystem!

 

Park in the last parking lot and meet at the River Bend trailhead at 8:30a.m. Don’t forget good walking shoes and water. Day use fee applies, but the guided walk is free.  

***Applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent is highly recommended.
