Biodiversity Week Bioblitz
Celebrate California Biodiversity Week 2025 by helping us search for and identify as many species as possible at South Cardiff State Beach. From tiny tidepool critters to soaring seabirds, every discovery counts. Join a State Park Interpreter for an optional guided walk, where you’ll explore our coastal ecosystems and learn how you can be part of community science that helps protect our wild neighbors.
Event Time: 8 - 11am
Guided walks offered at 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am
What to expect: Day-use parking available for a fee in the South Cardiff State Beach lot as well as limited street parking nearby. Walking area may include uneven terrain, wear good walking shoes.
What to bring: Bring sun protection, drinking water, binoculars and a smart phone or tablet with cellular connection if possible. Download the iNaturalist app for Google Play or the Apple app Store prior to the event to participate in community science.
Where to meet: Look out for us at South Cardiff State Beach between lifeguard towers 10 & 11. For easy driving directions, search for "Cardiff Lifeguard Tower 11" in maps. Day use parking fees apply.
