Time of Event: 9:00AM – 12:00PM
Location of Event: Point Dume State Park
Description of Event: Join us at Point Dume to help weed and keep California State Parks beautiful—let’s make a difference together!
Join California State Parks for a special volunteer stewardship day at Point Dume State Beach! Volunteers will work alongside State Parks natural resources staff to help restore this unique coastal landscape by hand-removing invasive Euphorbia (false caper) that threatens native plants and wildlife habitat.
Point Dume is home to rare coastal bluff ecosystems, nesting birds, pollinators, and culturally significant landscapes. By removing invasive plants, volunteers help create space for native species like giant coreopsis, dudleya, and other coastal bluff vegetation to thrive.
This will be a hands-on restoration event with guidance from State Parks natural resources staff. Interpretation and cultural resources staff will also be present to share information about the ecological and cultural importance of the site.
Parking
Paid parking is available at the Westward Beach parking lot adjacent to Point Dume State Beach. After parking, please follow event signs to the volunteer check-in area. Allow a few extra minutes to park and walk to the site before the event begins.
