FPOA Solar Program

Time: 2:00pm to 5:00pm (weather permitting)

Location: Fremont Peak Observatory 

Daytime solar programs use special filters that allow you to safely see details on the surface of the sun, and run from 2PM to 5PM. See sunspots, granules, facula, and solar prominences through special sun telescopes. Sun activity will be close to maximum in 2026. Any program this year should be a good show. Check the status on our website for more information.

No part of the August 12 total solar eclipse will be visible in California
