Celebrate Women's History Month and join us for the Second Annual Women's History Crawl at Sonoma State Historic Park's Barracks! This in-person event will take you on a journey through the rich history of women in Sonoma County, the Bay Area and beyond. Explore the stories of women who helped shaped our community, and our world. Grab your friends and come crawl with us!

Agenda

Women's History Crawl

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Visit local historical societies, libraries, museums and parks at their tables in the Barracks Courtyard. Learn about the important women within their organizations. Complete the tasks at each of the tables and get your bingo card marked off. Prizes awarded for completed bingo cards, while prizes last.

Melissa Jacobson - Guest Lecturer

12:00 PM- 1:00 PM

Melissa Jacobson is a retired Diablo Valley College History Professor, whose areas of expertise include Women’s and California History. Currently, Ms. Jacobson is very much enjoying sharing her knowledge and joy of local history with members of the community who are not (by the way) required to do homework, turn in essays, nor take exams! Welcome to this year’s lively Women’s History Month presentation entitled, "Are You a Pioneer?".

Alice: Memoirs of a Barbary Coast Prostitute

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Join Ivy Anderson and Devon Angus as they discuss their book, Alice Memoirs of a Barbary Coast Prostitute. Learn about the views and lives of Alice, and other sex workers, in early 20th century San Francisco. You will have the opportunity to watch feature footage from the film adaptation of the book. Read all about the author's and their phenomenal book at their website.
