Description: Help with wildfire recovery efforts. We will have two projects that volunteers can choose from to help restore the popular Los Leones Trail and nearby day use area so it can be safe to open back up to the public. The first group will work to rebuild trails that were lost in the Palisades fire. This work will involve clearing the trail of resprouting vegetation, decompacting and regrading trail tread, removing burned trail edging, and reconstructing approaches to trail footbridges. A second group will focus on removing invasive species that have popped up after the fire and planting of California native plants. Please note: The trail work is moderately strenuous and may require a further hike into the project area. Ages 14 and over welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian). Snacks are provided.Full opportunity address and directions will be sent to you by e-mail after you sign up.
