Lecture Series: "Jazz Water, Sonoma and the Origins of Jazz!" by CW Bayer

Thursday, January 15th, 2026 | 7pm

In this one hour program, CW Bayer will present a lecture with songs about the origins of jazz in the West. You will be amazed at the role Sonoma played at the beginning of jazz. With pictures and detailed history, CW Bayer outlines the lost story of how New Orleans musicians created hot ragtime during 1908 in the Bay Area, and how that vibe came to be named at Boyes Hot Springs during 1913. This look at music, culture and the West will interest fans of local lore, musicians, historians, dancers and baseball players. Along the way we will all sing, "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey". Bubbly water will never taste the same again.
