What to Expect: Join California State Parks at Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park for a special First Day Hike featuring multiple guided trail options. Each hike will be led by trail guides, and participants can choose the route that best fits their interests and ability level. We will offer a variety of hikes, from short, mostly shaded round-trip routes with mild elevation gain to longer, more challenging trails with steep climbs along exposed hillsides.

Length of Hike: 2.0 mile, 2 hours

Preparation: Wear sunscreen and long pants because the brush is thick and sticky. A light jacket or long-sleeved shirt is also recommended. Although we try to avoid poison oak, sometimes it is encountered. Wear sturdy hiking boots. A walking stick is preferred by some hikers. Bring plenty of water. A hat is also recommended.

Special Instructions: Temperatures above 90 degrees, dense fog, rain (even light rain), or red flag warning cancels the event.

Ages: All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
