Delta Meadows State Park Property Birdwalk

Have you ever gazed up at the birds in sky and imagined what they must have seen? Have you heard a melodious song floating through the woods and wondered what could be making it? Join Parks staff on Saturday, February 14th at 9:00 AM for our Delta Meadows Birdwalk to learn more about some of California's last remaining wetlands and the birds that call them home! We will meet at the Delta Meadows Park Property parking lot and go over how to birdwatch safely and ethically before starting on our hike. The walk will cover approximately 1 mile of distance and will take an hour and a half to two hours. Along the way, we will traverse through the riparian oak woodlands and emergent wetlands of Delta Meadows and discuss how these habitats help provide for the birds that live and migrate through the California Delta. Keep an eye out for various species of hawks, herons, and perhaps even a sighting of the illustrious Sandhill Cranes!
