Jr. Rangers – Explore the History of the Kumeyaay

Excited to become an official Junior Ranger? Join California State Park interpreters in exploring California's rich cultural heritage, vast biodiversity, and unique natural resources as you collect stamps from parks all across the State. First time Jr Rangers will recieve logbooks to begin their journey!

This month, Jr Rangers can explore the history of the Kumeyaay, the first people of the San Diego. This program features a guided nature walk with native plant identification, an introduction to Kumeyaay cosmology, insights into the history of the San Diego River, and a hands-on activity where participants create and take home a rubbing of a local native plant. Come discover Califorinas rich cultural heritage, learn more about the culture of our local tribal community, and become a Jr. Ranger at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. 

Sign up at the Robinson Rose Visitor Center until 11:30 or at the program, space permitting.  Maximum of 12 Children ages 7 – 12 years.
