Are you interestered in learning more about San Diego's rich cultural history? Join a State Park Interpreter for a free 15 minute Hidden History Talk regarding the stories of individuals and events that are often under represented in history. Hidden History Talks bring to light accounts of African Ameican history, LGBT+ history, and Women's history throught San Diego.
As Día de los Muertos approaches, you may notice there are many historical altar inside the museums and businesses around Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Each elaborate altar honors an early resident of San Diego and welcomes them back on November 1 and 2. However, one resident that you wont find on any ofrenda is Yankey Jim. Stop by the Colorado House for this month's hidden hisotry talk and discover the story of an irreputable man and his entanglement with local law and Grand Larceny. Was his sentence just? We will let you decide.
