Asilomar Day

Join us to celebrate 112 years of Asilomar!

The first YWCA conference was held at Asilomar (originally dubbed Guardamar) during the first week of August, 1913. Join us to mark Asilomar's 112th birthday with free tours, music, and refreshments.

Free tours throughout the day:

Asilomar Origins -- Tour buildings designed by Julia Morgan, California's first licensed female architect. Learn why the YWCA commissioned them and what has happened here over the last 112 years

Dune Walk -- Stroll through Asilomar's restored Dune Habitat Natural Preserve -- one of the most successful dune restoration projects in the United States. Learn how dunes are formed, how State Parks restored this habitat, and how healthy dune habitats help shield us from impacts of climate change.

All tours begin at the bottom of the steps in front of the Social Hall.

Open House (music & refreshments): 2 - 4 PM in the Social Hall.
