Visitors to California’s state parks have a new platform for booking reservations. The new reservation system, ReserveCalifornia™, will be easy-to-use and similar to booking hotels, airline tickets and other comparable services.

Reservations can be made either online or by phone:

  • Online: Reservations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on
  • Phone: Customer Call Center. The center is available 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST (except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). The best times to call are midday and midweek, when the phone lines are less busy.

ReserveCalifornia™ provides more user-friendly web services and greater accessibility to more visitors for highly sought-after camping and lodging locations in the Golden State.

A variety of new features will be phased in between August 1 and March 1, 2018, including moving from a first-of-the-month on-sale days to a new rolling window reservation service. This means that visitors will be able to reserve campsites and lodging six months in advance from the current date. Camping and lodging inventory will become available each day for a period of six months in advance. Bookings may extend from the arrival date to the desired departure date – based on availability and the park’s maximum stay rules.

For example, on August 1 a visitor will be able to reserve a campsite beginning February 1, 2018 through as many consecutive days as the park allows. The reservation could extend from February 1-14, 2018 if the park allows a 14-day stay. The rolling window adjusts for months longer or shorter than 31 days.
