Pacific Palisades - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) is working with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, California State Parks, and the city and county of Los Angeles to assist in the safe removal of hazardous household materials from properties damaged by the Palisades Fire. This necessary action helps speed up debris removal on properties destroyed by the wildfire and will enable residents to rebuild their homes faster.

MALIBU – California State Parks announced today the arrest of a suspect on a charge of felony arson related to a brush fire that ignited on Jan. 8 near Leo Carrillo State Park (SP) in Los Angeles County. The region has been under a red flag warning, with severe fire danger intensified by powerful Santa Ana winds, which have fueled multiple destructive wildfires across Southern California.

Palisades Fire Destroys Historic Homes and Buildings at Will Rogers State Historic Park and Topanga State Park

PACIFIC PALISADES —The devastating Palisades Fire destroyed historic buildings and multiple structures at two California State Parks last night, including Will Rogers’ historic ranch house and buildings at Will Rogers State Historic Park (SHP). The fire fueled by wind gusts up to 80 mph also destroyed parts of Topanga State Park (SP), including the historic Topanga Ranch Motel.

California State Parks Arrests Suspect in Connection with Bidwell Mansion Fire

CHICO – Officers with California State Parks, CAL FIRE’s Office of the State Fire Marshal, Chico Police Department, and the California State University, Chico Police Department on the afternoon of Jan. 2 arrested a suspect on felony arson charges in connection with the Dec. 11 fire that severely damaged Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park. Kevin Alexander Carlson, 30, of Chico, was taken into custody and booked at the Butte County Jail on multiple charges, including Penal Code 451(c) Arson.
