California State Parks and California Tahoe Conservancy to Host Open House Meeting on Land Exchange
Properties include Dollar and Rubicon
TAHOE CITY, Calif.–California State Parks and the California Tahoe Conservancy will host an Open House Meeting on Wednesday December 3, 2014 to discuss the upcoming Dollar property—which will now be part of Burton Creek State Park—and the Rubicon property land exchange between the two agencies. The land exchange is part of a larger comprehensive effort to consolidate ownerships in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
The informational meeting will be hosted at the Fairway Community Center (Lakeview Room), located at 330 Fairway Drive, in Tahoe City, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The meeting will consist of different stations to discuss different parts of the land transfer. Representatives from State Parks and the Tahoe Conservancy will be on hand to answer any questions the public may have.
The official land transfer will occur upon final recording of the property documents, which in anticipated to happen in January 2015.
The land transfer is part of the 2012-13 State Budget, which contained language to execute an agreement between State Parks and the Tahoe Conservancy to consolidate and exchange lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin to more effectively manage them, as well as share resources, such as personnel and facilities.
Other Conservancy properties including the California side of Van Sickle Bi-State Park, and particular parcels adjacent to Washoe Meadows State Park and Emerald Bay State Park will be transferred to State Parks at a future date.
