Volunteer in the beautiful California State Parks of the Sierra foothills! The Sierra Gold Sector is hosting a training for volunteering at Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park. There is a wide variety of opportunities available to match any interest:
• Town Tours: Lead or assist with tours to share the colorful history of North Bloomfield
• School programs: Lead tours and/or assist with 3rd-5th grade school programs
• Gold panning: Teach visitors and students how to pan for gold
• Living History Special Events: Help bring the town to life by staffing and/or assisting with annual events such as Humbug Day.
The training days will be offered on both Fridays and Saturdays (trainees only need to attend one of the days each week).
REQUIRED ORIENTATION TRAINING DATES, meet at Empire Mine SHP:
Friday, March 31st or Saturday, April 1st
AND
Friday, April 14th or Saturday, April 15th
MALAKOFF DIGGINS ACTIVITY TRAINING: Friday, May 5th or Saturday, May 6th
Trainees who are interested in volunteering at other local State Parks can also attend Empire Mine SHP Activity Training on Friday, April 21st or Saturday, April 22nd; and/or South Yuba River SP on Friday, April 28th or Saturday, April 29th.

An optional, informational Open House for the public to learn about the volunteer programs will held Saturday, March 25th at each park.
