 6/1/23 - After School Junior Rangers -- 3:30pm to 5:30pm at East Peak

· DESCRIPTION: For kids aged 7-12. Check in with park staff for orientation before starting a self-guided exploration of the nature of East Peak. After completing the self-guided task, report back to park staff to receive your Junior Ranger badge. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

· MEET: East Peak, near the Plankwalk (trail to the top of the peak) Trailhead. Check in any time during designated program time.

 


6/2/23 - Weekday Hike: Watershed Exploration at 9:30am

· DESCRIPTION: Explore the nature and history of the Redwood Creek watershed on an easy hike with our State Park Interpreter.

· PLANNED ROUTE: Out and back hike from Santos Meadow along the Redwood Creek Trail.

· DISTANCE: About 3 miles with minimal elevation changes. Overall hike rating is easy.

· MEET: Sanots Meadow/Frank Valley Horse Camp on Frank Valley/Muir Woods Road.

 


 6/3/23 - Weekend Hike: I Love You, Tamalpais at 9:00am

· DESCRIPTION: Take in the natural beauties of Mt Tam, many of them distinctly California beauties on a moderate loop hike with our State Park Interpreter.

· PLANNED ROUTE: Start at Pantoll and hike a loop on the Alpine, Bootjack, TCC, Dipsea, and Lower Old Mine Trails. Expected hike duration is 2.5 hours.

· DISTANCE: About 3.2 miles with total elevation loss/gain of about 500 feet. Overall hike rating is moderate.

· MEET: Pantoll Parking Lot, near the restrooms.

 


 6/4/23 - "Perk Up in the Park" from 8:00am to 10:00am (Pantoll) and 11:00am to 1:00pm (East Peak)

· DESCRIPTION: This is our version of "Coffee with a Ranger". Stop by any time during the program for a hot beverage and chat with our State Park Interpreter (and possibly one of our Rangers). This is a great opportunity to bring your questions to park staff. Are you camped at Pantoll and wonder what that bird you were hearing was? Do you have questions about wildlife, flowers, trails, getting a job in parks, or anything else related to Mount Tamalpais State Park and/or California State Parks? Do you just require a little warmth or caffeination to get you through the rest of your outdoor adventure? Then stop on by! If you are camping, please bring your own cup to cut down on waste.

· LOCATIONS: Pantoll Kiosk from 8:00am to 10:00am; East Peak, by the watershed model, from 11:00am to 1:00pm

· ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Coffee, tea, cocoa, and other supplies all provided by the Friends of Mt Tam. Many thanks to our partner!
