What's a Virtual Event?

A lot has changed over the last year - some for the better.  Virtual events are now a reality and are proving to be so successful, many long-running professional conferences and trainings are deciding to keep some or all of their future events in the virtual environment. But what IS a virtual conference?  In many ways, it's the same as an in-person conference, and in many ways, it's better.

Educational Breakout Sessions

Sessions will be held in much the same way as they are in person. Speakers will present a Powerpoint while discussing the content. Attendees can ask questions and presenters can respond via the text chat box. Handouts and other materials will be posted for download right on the same screen as the presentation itself.  And the best part? If you miss a session for any reason, you'll have 30 days to go back and watch the pre-recorded session. Most sessions will be followed by a live Q & A during which attendees can ask questions via text chat and speakers can respond via audio and video, allowing multiple speakers to discuss answers at length. Check out the full agenda and session descriptions.

Individual and Group Networking

If you miss talking to colleagues in the hallways and during breaks, never fear! On the InEvent platform, you can search for, text, and video chat with up to 17 individuals at once. Enjoy private messaging and video meetings with individuals, or create groups - either public or private - to discuss issues, compare notes, or create a plan. Basic information on the networking functionality is available in the Networking What to Know document.

Exhibitors and Sponsors

Exhibitors and sponsors will have their own "rooms" where they can post videos and other information and chat with attendees in real time. Peruse the vendors and service providers, ask questions, and collect information for your next trail project.

Continuing Education Credits

Need professional development credits? Now's your chance! This year we are again partnering with American Trails to provide a variety of CEUs for just $15 per session. Check out the CEU webpage for more information.
