About Save the Redwoods League

Since 1918, Save the Redwoods League has preserved many of California’s ancient redwood forests and redwood ecosystems, thus ensuring that current and future generations can experience the awe and peace inspired by these precious natural wonders. The League saves redwoods because they are rare; they only exist naturally in central and northern California and southern Oregon. Save the Redwood League purchases threatened woodlands and restores logged forests to their majestic state. Since its establishment more than 90 years ago, the League has protected more than 181,000 acres of pristine redwood forests and helped develop 59 redwood parks and reserves for all to enjoy. As part of their partnership with California State Parks, the League is sponsoring the California State Parks Redwood Parks Brochure Program.
