Carpinteria State Beach 
Capinteria State Beach has Maintenance Host and Camp Host positions. The typical appointment is four months up to a maximum of six months.

Camp Host duties include camper registration, collecting fees, staffing the visitor center, light maintenance, and reporting incidents and emergencies.  Camp Hosts also have the opportunity to present interpretive programs.

Maintenance Host duties include restroom cleaning, maintenance projects, grounds keeping, and reporting of incidents and emergencies.

Host sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and electricity, water and sewer hookups.  Please contact Spencer Stacy at Spencer.Stacy@parks.ca.gov

Please note: El Capitan SB/ Refugio SB/ and Gaviota SP Camp Host positions are full for 2022. For all interested in hosting in 2023: All three parks are managed through the Santa Barbara Sector Office. You only need to submit one application for all three parks

El Capitán State Beach
El Capitan State Beach has Maintenance Hosts and Camp Hosts positions. The typical appointment is three months up to a maximum of six months.

Gaviota State Park

Gaviota State Park has one Camp Host position, one combination Camp Host/Maintenance Host position and one Maintenance Host position. The usual appointment is three to four months up to a maximum of six months. 

Camp Host duties include: assisting staff with fee collection, providing public information, light maintenance, and possibly assisting with operation of the public boat hoist. 
Maintenance Host duties include: maintenance projects, grounds keeping, and reporting of incidents and emergencies.

Host campsites include a picnic table and fire ring.  No hookups are available.

Refugio State Beach
Refugio State Beach has Camp Host and Maintenance Host positions. The typical appointment is three months up to a maximum of six months.
