Just 3 miles south of Mendocino Headlands State Park, Van Damme offers 74 developed campsites & 10 environmental sites. It also contains 2 short nature trails and has 10 miles of trails along the river.

At Van Damme, visitors will also enjoy the beach which is across Highway 1 from the park entrance. Although there is a legal limit, the abalone diving here is rumored to be the best along the northern California coast.

And the kayaking and sunbathing in the sheltered cove aren't too shabby either.
