Native American Day – Gather on the north steps of the Capitol for this special event commemorating the history and heritage of California’s Native peoples.  Held each year on the fourth Friday in September, the event is coordinated and sponsored by State Native American Liaisons of California. Speakers will include California Indian leaders; music and dance will help honor the spirit of the State’s indigenous people. This event is free to the public; 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
