The Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF) is a proud partner of the Sierra District State Parks. Through fundraising and retail sales, SSPF provides critical funding to support educational and interpretive programs, historic restoration, cultural and environmental preservation, organizational support, and events such as trail days, Friends of Bodie Day and Living History days.
The SSPF family of parks includes: Donner Memorial State Park, Tahoe State Recreation Area, Sugar Pine Point State Park, D.L. Bliss State Park, Emerald Bay State Park, Grover Hot Springs State Park, Bodie State Historic Park and Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve.
Recently the Foundation obtained grant funding for the Bodie Stabilization Project in California’s Official Gold Rush Ghost Town. The Foundation has also facilitated restoration projects at Vikingsholm, Pine Lodge at Sugar Pine Point, and the 1916 Rubicon Point Lighthouse at Lake Tahoe, the highest elevation lighthouse in the world.
The Foundation has produced three feature length videos, "Bodie - Ghost Town Frozen in Time," and "Lake of the Sky - The Story of Tahoe Parts I & II.” A video chronicling the history of Vikingsholm is in production, with release anticipated for the summer of 2008.
