Star Gazing at Big Basin Redwoods
Park: Big Basin Redwoods SP
Saturday, July 5 at 8:30 pm
Experience awesome night skies in the wilderness, far from city lights. Using binoculars, we’ll explore our galaxy the Milky Way–including our moon, other bright planets and cosmic “faint fuzzies.” You’ll also hear the latest news from NASA’s current space program. There is very limited parking, so we’ll arrange carpools to accommodate the maximum number of participants. The program will last 1.5 hours. Suitable for adults (and young adults accompanied by parents). Binoculars will be available to share–or bring your own binoculars or compact spotting scope. We'll walk about 1/8 mile over uneven trail surfaces in the dark. Bring at least one flashlight for your group. Dress in layers for cooler night-time temperatures and wear sturdy walking shoes. Meet at Park Headquarters.
